Program Dates and Descriptions

September 28, 10:00 am–12:00 pm – Stream Creature Search – We will wade into the Speed River, to find out what creatures live in and around the water. Come prepared with shoes that you can wear into the

October 12 , 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Beavers of Schneider’s Flats – Beavers are busy collecting food for winter and fortifying their dens and dams. We will search out the beavers that live in the ponds at Schneider’s Flats. Please meet in the parking lot.

October 26, 10:00 am–12:00 pm – Fall Colour Hike at the U of G Arboretum – We will hike the trails and enjoy the beauty of the fall forest. We will also look for creatures preparing for the cold to come. Meet in the Arboretum parking lot off College

November 9, 6:30 –8:30 pm10:00 am–12:00 pm – Art Outdoors – Nature provides a bounty of natural materials to create some beautiful works of art. Join us as we get creative outside.

November 23, 10:00 am–12:00 pm – Rays Reptile Zoo –  Live animal visit from Ray’s Reptile Zoo.

December 7, 9:00 am–11:00 am – Bird Banding with Dave Lamble – David will be banding some of our resident birds. This is your chance to get close to some of our feathered friends.

December 21 – 9:00 am – 11:30 am – Christmas Bird Count for Kids – This is your chance to participate in a great citizen science project. We will learn how to identify some common birds, go for a hike to find and count them and then submit our findings to Bird Studies Canada.
