Nature Guelph Speaker Series – Love Your Greats: The Search For Environmental Optimism
– with Jen Pate
What does it take to motivate people to actively care for their environment? In most cases, it is love that creates the foundation for our actions. If we don’t feel a sense of care for something, we won’t take the actions necessary to protect it. Through her experience on the Oceans and the Great Lakes, Jen is sharing a love story – a unique one of people’s passion for their local waterways and their willingness to instigate meaningful change for a healthier future. Nature Guelph is pleased to welcome Jen as our October guest speaker, and we hope you will join us as she shares her story of the intersection between environmental degradation and optimism.
Bio: Jen Pate is a geographer and entrepreneur fascinated by human-environment interaction. From this experience she now works to promote social and environmental change through her newest initiative Love Your Greats (www.loveyourgreats.com) and co-runs an adventure series called Leisure With Purpose to inspire others to get outdoors and help protect the places we enjoy.
