Nature Guelph Speaker Series: Adam Shoalts

Alone Across Canada’s Arctic

Explorer Adam Shoalts shares pictures and stories from his epic 4,000 km, 5 month solo canoe journey across Canada’s Arctic in 2017. Shoalts’ journey was about celebrating Canada’s 150th while at the same time encouraging Canadians to think about what kind of future Canada’s wilderness will have over the next 150 years.

Bio: “Called ‘Canada’s Indiana Jones,” by the Toronto Star, Adam Shoalts is a professional adventurer and explorer, national best-selling author, and regular guest on Canadian television and radio. His expeditions have ranged from the jungles of the Amazon to the tundra of the High Arctic. In 2017, to celebrate Canada’s 150th, Shoalts undertook a 4,000 km, 5 month solo journey alone across Canada’s Arctic. His books include Alone Against the North and A History of Canada in 10 Maps.
